Our feature documentary explores the deaths of people in mental health care in Essex and the families’ fight to be heard. As the Lampard Inquiry examines what happened, we ask what accountability means, and what must change.

This film exists because lives cannot be reduced to case numbers. Their stories, the people who loved them and the questions that remain deserve sustained attention.

What if the help came
before the separation?

A documentary in development investigating failings in the social services system and asking why families can be separated, sometimes permanently, when earlier, better-connected support might have helped them stay together.

Through lived experience and rigorous investigation, we will explore the gaps between services, the decisions that shape children’s lives and the human cost when the dots are not connected.

Children’s safety is fundamental. So is asking whether families receive the support they need, when they need it.

I believe being heard

I started LIGHT WORK because some stories refuse to leave you. Stories of people who have been let down, families still fighting for answers and individuals doing extraordinary things to make life better for others.

I want us to do those stories justice. To listen properly. To find the right people to tell them. And to build the teams and partnerships that give them the greatest chance of reaching the world.

For me, the light workers are the people who keep showing up. This company is a tribute to them, and a commitment to help their voices travel further.
